I love finding quotes, scriptures, or sayings that stick with me, that leave a lasting impression. I remember how important it was, when I was younger and would leave the house with my friends, for my mom to remind me to make good choices. I recently came across a client who shared a saying he has with his kids, “Remember who you are and whose you are.” WOW! I love it! I instantly wrote it down and then found myself continuing to go back to those words.
Remember who you are… That can be tricky, depending on how confident you are with yourself regardless of who is around you. For me, this has been easy most of my life but, like anyone, there have been times when I have either attempted to conform to my friends or tried on “another me”. In both cases, it always came back to me realizing I am a much happier person when I am true to myself and being me. It also makes many choices easier because I follow what my insides are telling me. I have always gotten a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach if I was not being true to myself or trouble was clearly ahead.
Remember whose you are… Now that is where the meat is. You belong to your family. This saying is meaningful for us as children to our parents, as a spouse to our husband or wife, and even as a parent to our own children.
Whether you are a believer and realize you belong to God and your family, whose you are could really impact your daily decisions. Think about it…..
