As summer comes to a close

At the start of the summer, I challenged everyone to write down a few items you wanted to accomplish for yourself this summer. I thought I would provide an update on my progress.

  • Two weeks into summer, my unplanned happy hour with my friend occurred. It was the perfect Friday night and we had some great catching up along with some cocktails.
  • On a recent vacation to a camping resort, the girls, Jarrod, and I took a hike along a nature trail that led us to a pretty pond. The hike was not as long as I had imagined in my head when I added this to my list of things I wanted to do this summer, but that is because we saw a “Beware of snakes” sign and all of us have not conquered that fear yet!
  • I wanted to reread a book from my personal library. I actually read two. When I finished the first, I was filled with joy having enjoyed the book as much as the first time I read it. I had to grab another from my collection.
  • I wanted to lose five pounds. Still not there yet, but I feel lighter and am practicing everything in moderation. I am doing my best to exercise every other day but am not hard on myself if it does not happen.

Go back and review your list of summer must do’s. There are still a few solid summer days to check off your list.

It does feel good to know I have held myself accountable for filling my own bucket.
