I believe when things are hard, it is making us stronger for what lies ahead. I don’t always appreciate when the trying time lingers. When I just want this stage to end it can become very discouraging day after day. Sometimes I want to shout from the mountain tops, “I get it, let’s move on from this stage!” If you need an example, think about a time when you might have had a marriage lull, maybe you have a child who struggles to read, you might have a parent who is losing their memory, your brother or family member might struggle with addiction, or maybe work is unbearable.
One of the amazing Christians I follow on Twitter is Bob Goff. He is an amazing author and has a non-profit organization called “Love Does”. He recently tweeted: “Be patient. Sometimes when it looks to us like Jesus is asleep in the back of the boat; He’s actually fixing the rudder.”
If you are in a trial, I hope this quote brings you comfort. I know it is hard, the end never seems near, but it will come, just not on your time but when it is time.
