Network

I am a firm believer you need to network-not just to meet new people and learn new things, but also to establish a group of people who you can lean on in the professional world and seek advice from-and in the end these trusted friends will help you grow even more.

I recently was offered a new job outside of my company, from someone in my network. I would call this woman a friend, a mentor and a sponsor. We met at a networking event, instantly hit it off, and have been in touch for the past two years. When an opportunity came up at her company, she thought I was the right fit. Thankfully I was open to listen about the position and agreed; I was ready switch directions and leave my company of 20+ years behind.

I am excited about the next chapter in my life! Part of being excited about the next chapter is also reflecting on my career thus far.  Remembering where I came from, and also thanking all the people along the way in my career that made an impact on me.

This is an important step in moving on to the next chapter. Without proper reflection and gratitude, you can’t completely and freely move on to what life has in store around the corner.
