This year I am committing that any time I bring something new into the house, something else must go. It is a one-for-one swap. I recently took the girls shopping for two very specific items. When we got to the store, they found clothes they loved and “had to have”. I thought about saying, “we don’t need that”, but then I realized this was a perfect moment for teaching. They could have three new items, but three old items needed to go into the donate box before they could access their new items. The minute we got into the house, Deanna ran to her room and brought me back five items, stating, “I brought more. I don’t wear any of these so someone else can enjoy them.” In that moment, I realized I am doing good. She is getting it. Others can use what we are not using…
Love this!
