Counting your Blessings

I have spent so much time this past month going through old pictures. I found over 5 albums packed with pictures from my mid-twenties, trips to the beach house, The Irish Express (St. Patrick’s bar crawl in Philadelphia), and countless New Years Eve’s.  It really took me back, so much so, I grabbed them all for my next visit with a dear friend to reminisce together.

After every trip down memory lane, an overwhelming sense of gratitude would embrace me. We were a very lucky crew to have such great friends and for many years, it was just us figuring out adulthood. Most of us still stay in touch, whether that be texts, phone calls, drinks, dinners, or Facebook viewings.

If you can bottle up the feelings of overwhelming gratitude, appreciating how lucky you are for the friendships and memories, and how extremely blessed you are, I believe it can truly change whatever is happening around you; whether you are stressed or experiencing discomfort.

My challenge to all of us: Continue to capture those memories wherever you’re spending the bulk of your time.

If you are a homemaker, capture something fun each day!

If you work in corporate America, bring out that iPhone not just at work dinners but in a work meeting.

If you are retired, capture the essence of enjoying life.

And most importantly, go back and recall those sweet days, feel how lucky you are to have experienced them!
