When I realized the girls had a full week off for Spring Break, I quickly booked time to visit family in Florida. At home Deanna loves to lay in bed or lounge in her beanbag, playing games on her phone or Nintendo Switch. There was no way Deanna was going to spend 7 days lounging around gaming while I worked my normal 12-hour day.
Off we went to Florida and as I had hoped, other than making some Tik Tok videos and funny comedy bits on her phone, she was electronic-free, just enjoying the space around her. Her Nintendo Switch never came out of her bag. You might ask what did she do with all that time? She enjoyed conversations with family, swam in the pool, found the perfect seashells, watched her favorite movies, read a book, ate a million cotton candy grapes, shopped, enjoyed Starbucks, steered the golf cart…. she did everything but allow technology to consume her.
Getting on the plane to come home, she was tired as she had lived life to the fullest and I was a proud momma, mission was accomplished.
