I strive for excellence each day, with myself at work, the girls with their schooling, dance, and music, and also with my team at work. At times I can be a bit overbearing, I know it, I am honest about it. But here is what I have learned in my 47 years of life: It matters. It matters every day how you show up, it becomes part of your brand, it shows how you commit, how you follow through, and how your product shines. I teach the girls, that if they agreed to participate, to give it their best. If you have a test, study, and do your best. I coach my team that every action continues to create your brand. Who do you want to be and how do you want to be known?
I am not talking about perfection, I don’t want to make anyone crazy or feel like a failure if they miss the mark or get a poor grade. I am talking about showing up every day and knowing you did all you could to be successful. I believe we all owe it to ourselves and those around us to show up excellent. If you don’t feel good, don’t feel productive, or feel a bit itchy, give yourself permission to take the day or move your schedule around.
You are the creator of your best self and future success.
