I travel for work and I often post the pictures to Facebook, as I am leaving. People always comment things like, “must be nice”, “look at you”, or “wish I had your job”. I laugh and say sure. I am very blessed and am so grateful for every opportunity that comes to me. I work long hours, I don’t disconnect often, just ask my kids what they eat for dinner…here is the thing though, I say Yes.
I say yes to visit to the partner where we need more traction, I say yes to the hard trip where I tell someone things are not progressing or working out, I say yes to Sunday afternoon calls with my boss. You know why, because the hard work provides me satisfaction, gives me the feeling I am making a difference, in many lives, not just work but my families life. And let’s not forget I am experiencing life along the way.
My counterpart and I on this past trip got out of bed at 3:45 in the morning after a 15 hour work day to see the sunrise from a hot air balloon. It was amazing and so worth it. We said Yes to the experience.
