This is not another blog about death but more about the sensational thing that has occurred to me since my uncle passed. My Uncle Steve passed three months after my brother, three years ago. He was the kind of man who was easygoing, could gossip with the girls and play golf with the boys.
I see hearts everywhere; in the clouds, the cement I walk on, trash left on the ground, cracked shells on the beach, you name it, I see it. I take pictures of all of them and send them to my aunt, every time. I could probably write a book, “All the Hearts We See.” When I see them I am typically thinking deeply, praying about something, or feeling an overwhelming of blessings.
- In one of my hot air balloon ride pictures, one balloon was partially in the sun, it made a heart image.
- Morning walks with Penelope, sidewalks have so many hearts.
- A trash can in a Mexico City restaurant, someone put a heart sticker on the lid.
- At dinner feeling grateful, right next to my drink, the table grain was light brown, and the heart was dark brown.
- Months ago when my mom had a stroke, walking into the hospital, I saw a heart in the concrete, you know the white stones that are among all the black concrete.
- Last week, walking through the ER after a scare with Deanna, the hospital floor was beige and I walked right by a black heart on the floor. Imperfection? I think not. I bet that one has blessed many a scared parent.
One of my favorites, I am home gardening, just back from a long business trip week, exhausted, but thinking about how lucky I am. I had pulled out all the old soil and was adding fresh soil and right there in my hand, pure perfection, a white heart, a mix of soil and roots
I only noticed or they started appearing once Uncle Steve was gone. I have always said, I don’t want anybody to spook me when they pass, but the hearts are a welcome treat, and they blow my mind every time they appear.
A magical God Wink, just when I need it.
What a heartwarming post. Seeing hearts in so many strange places and bringing smiles and comfort to you.
Strongly, I’ve been collecting small heart shaped stones for years. Each one is special.
Have a wonderful day.
This touched my heart! I LOVE how awake you are in your life. You found a heart shaped rock when we ran away to the beach for a much needed friend weekend. I love you!
It will not come as a surprise to you that I collect hearts. Not every single heart-shaped item that I see, only the ones that speak to me.
Love u ❤️
Love this! Sometimes our loved ones know we need a pick me up. How special a connection this truly is, 🩷
