Words Matter

The first time I heard the phrase, Words Matter, it was from an old boss who managed her group like a military officer. She would beat the table, as an effort, to ensure you understood the importance, not only in the words said, but the trickle effort throughout the organization, if not thoughtfully stated, could create mass confusion.

Everything you say adjusts the conversation for the better or the worse, let’s be honest, so does the tone of the words.

The responsibility of leaders, aunts/uncles, grandparents, and any position of authority is huge. What we say is impactful to those who look up to us. It is not only what we say but how we say it. When in conversations we need to have a heightened awareness of our role. It is a privilege and an obligation that should never be taken lightly.
