Do you believe?

So I believe things happen for a reason. I believe in strange circumstance. I woke up recently on a Sunday morning with a strong conviction to visit a new church close to me. As I got my seat, front and center, the sweet lady behind me tapped me and introduced herself. She asked if I was new, given I was reading the pamphlet titled “New Here”. I said “Yes, it was my first time, we live locally, have been thinking about visiting and woke up today with a strong feeling today was the day to try this church. It is great meeting you, I am Tricia.” She stared at me for a moment and then began sharing something personal. Today marked the year anniversary of her mom’s death and she had wanted to go to her mom’s church in honor of her mom. The kids wanted to come to their church today though, and so they came and crazy enough her mom’s name was Tricia. As she was talking you could feel her being comforted by the universe.

I believe she was comforted in that moment, by her mom, or a higher being. The universe, our God, comforting her in that moment, telling her everything is ok.  She really wanted to go to her mom’s church but because the kids resisted, she gave in and went to her church and meets a woman with the same name of her mom. A sign it is ok she went to her church, her mom is watching over.

Now, you could be like my husband and say, do you know how many Tricia’s are in this world and how likely that event is to occur? And I will say every day of my life- it does not always work like that, there are times the universe, or our God, gives us a sign that we are ok, we are heard, we are cared for and it is good. I don’t call that a fluke.

Interesting enough, to make things even weirder, Delaney, my shy child who is never comfortable with new places, was talking up a storm to the group leader and made a new friend.

You never know where the day will take you. When you have a strong urge to pursue something new, you don’t know what the higher reason is, follow your instinct.
