This past Saturday, while my kids went away with my mom, I indulged in my ideal perfect pamper day. I headed over to my best friend’s house who is an amazing cook and she made a gourmet breakfast while we caught up on life. When I left her, I bought gifts for each family member, and then got myself a pedicure, manicure, facial, and massage. Lastly, I went on the perfect date with my better half at our favorite restaurant.
It is not often, more like maybe every other year, where I can recreate a day like this one, but when I am able, I am so grateful for it. It gives me the opportunity to shut out the world for hours, completely disconnect, and just focus on recharging my personal battery, both emotionally and physically.
You may have a different way to spend your perfect pamper day, but when was the last time you did it? I realize when I reflect back on the day, I don’t do it enough. I need to find small nuggets of time every quarter or so, to do some of the activities that remove me from my social and work worlds and allow me to get lost in my own thoughts.
Find time to totally abandon the norm, disconnect from the world, and recharge.
