Blessings come when you least expect them. A few weeks back I wrote about watching a little dog for our friends while they had their second baby. I shared that we loved every minute of having Penny with us. She got into a quick routine in the morning, greeting each girl to a new day with tons of kisses and walking all over them, waiting patiently at the steps for breakfast to be served and enjoying long walks before bedtime.
When our friends sent pictures of the new bundle of joy they had at home, we sent back pictures of Penny. On the day she was supposed to go home, our friends sent a message stating it was clear she was very loved here and the girls really liked her and asked if we wanted to keep her. Of course we said YES!
Later that week, while taking her to doggie daycare, we learned her full name was Penelope, Penny for short.
Funny how little blessings come when you least expect them. Keep your eyes open…..
