This year the holiday shopping sales are expected to hit $1 trillion in the U.S alone. It is so easy to go shopping and get all hyped on the pretty displays, the little trinkets, finding the small things you know your child would like or mom could use. (keywords, would OR could)
I am trying my hardest to not get carried away and all wrapped up in the excitement of the shopping and really take a pause and consider. What is the reason for the gift, will this be something in their room overlooked the first week of the new year, or do they have something like this already? All the glitter and glam really can take me away.
By asking myself these two questions, I have curbed my spending: What is the reason for the gift? Will it get used?
Have you established a way to prevent overspending this season?
