Since the release to Disney Plus, my children have been watching Hamilton every day. For those who don’t have a subscription to Disney Plus, Hamilton was released on July 3, 2020. So if you are counting, that is basically 1 whole month of watching the same 3-hour movie on replay. I personally enjoyed the first 3 showings and am almost a master at the song lyrics.
There are many other things my children could be focusing their attention on right now while camps are closed, like fighting with each other, watching YouTube videos of someone playing a game, or playing electronic games throughout the day. For that I choose to see the silver lining.
This movie has brought up many dinner conversations on what is true history and what is fiction, in addition to more dialogue around our founding fathers. For that I am grateful.
Within the movie, there are some themes that pop out to me each time. I am going to take August to highlight those themes. I hope you enjoy this month of the blog posts.
