Hamilton Part 2

“Talk less, smile more”

As a child many called me chatty Kathy. As I have grown up I still enjoy talking, but I have been trying to hone my listening skills more each year. It is a muscle that takes practice to perfect, especially if you enjoy the exchange of conversation. I have seen the greatest salespeople do this best; they just listen and smile. When they do this, people share more and more. Often they share additional information to assist the salesperson to close the deal, without even realizing.

In this moment of history, people are passionate about the state of the world and some even heated or angry. When I apply talk less, smile more, what I find is that the person sharing their views is grateful they were heard.

My favorite part about practicing this great tip – I feel lighter yet I have more information to aid me in where I need to beef up my political education, understand where repair in my home is needed, insight into adjustments required at work and overall general personal growth.
