It is very easy to write a story in your head based on your own mind’s eye view of the world. Often the story we create goes down a negative path or is seen with rose-colored glasses which can be very far from the truth. I have had to remind myself to ask questions, see the larger picture, imagine multiple storylines.
The stories you write might be true, but without actually taking a moment to connect with the other parties involved, you can’t be sure. In my work world, we call this is a 360 view. Give yourself the opportunity to gather all the facts and storylines so you can build the story based on the full 360 view and see the bigger picture.
