This year a friend shared one of her favorite birthday traditions as a suggestion to change things up for Delaney. It is called a Birthday Window. You print off pictures from over the years, showing the progression of age, time, involvement in activities, friends and holidays; all in honor of the birthday person.
When I first heard about the birthday window I thought “great idea, she will love that” and she will, but I am loving the process of going through and selecting the right pictures for the window. It has been a real walk down memory lane for me. I started just recapping this year and so many memories came flashing back of stolen in-the-moment photos along with the planned captured photos on vacation.
While gathering all of the photos, a sense of gratitude overflowed, realizing that I’m able to relish the moments once more as I pick each photo, and again when the window is complete, that creates a sense of excitement in my belly. (I know I am silly)
