As I wrote “The Pie” blog, I was listening to my music on a plane. You all have heard me share that I made a playlist of my brother’s favorite songs towards the end which I don’t randomly listen to unless I specifically go to his playlist. When I am creative writing or just lost in my own thoughts, I let the songs on my phone randomly play. I might be a sucker, but I believe things happen for a reason, not just “happenstance”. Life has a way of unfolding, ideas present themselves at the right moment, secrets are uncovered just in time, the most amazing life opportunities come when you didn’t realize the door was open…you catch my drift.
As I wrote the first line of “The Pie” blog, the song “Who are you” by The Who came on. I felt as if this was my brother chuckling, watching me, and shaking his head from left to right as if he was saying, “ It is time, sis, who are you?? You know what defines you, seize the moments ahead, fully embrace what was always yours, don’t worry about the rest, and make us all proud!” As well as F that pie. 😊
And just like that, I am reminded of my “why”. All the other stuff doesn’t matter, nobody gets the chance to go back in time and change things, all we can do is learn from it and be better each day.
