Alerts Off

One morning I am sitting at the bus stop with Deanna. It is a sunny morning, the sun is beaming on my face, and I share how excited I am to have my morning coffee poolside with the sun hot on my face, while on our upcoming vacation.   She looks at me, smiles, and says ever so sweet, “Are you going to work some of the time?” I respond, “No, turning alerts off too, so unless someone is hurt, I am not available to answer.” She smiles and says, “Aw, and your bosses know?” I nod and she quickly responds, “That sounds nice!”
Loud and clear, but ever so lightly, that was a nudge, a God wink- I need to be 100% present. I need to do away with all distractions and just be in the moment. It is time to take the break, enjoy the family, the sun, and have no worries…

Do you need a God wink to turn your alerts off?
